Humans Almost Went Extinct

Genetic studies reveal that the human species had a close encounter with extinction about 70,000 years ago.

The Genographic Project uses genetics to study anthropology.

This genetic study proposes that severe droughts in eastern Africa may have reduced the human population to as few as 2,000 individuals.

The migrations of humans out of Africa began about 60,000 years ago, thus dispersing the population beyond climate events in a single geographic area.
